I am a native of Virginia Beach, VA (Go Virginia Tech HOKIES!). I live in Rhode Island, and used to be a Boston train commuter. My husband and I still consider ourselves newlyweds as of May 8th in 2004, and have house rabbits (all but one are adopted or rescued). All are litterbox trained, and all are different characters (from a diva, to a tomboy, to a scaredy cat, to an absolute ham). Please check out Sweet Binks Rabbit Rescue if interested in adopting (http://www.rirabbits.org). You could save a retired Easter bunny from being killed.
My grandmother and mom taught me to crochet and sew when I was around 4 or 5 years-old. I have a LOVE for textiles, and cannot seem to get enough yarn (bet there are a lot like me out there too!). I participated in a knitting workshop for the now closed RA Yarns on Thursday nights, and gave the crochet lessons on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, and knitting lessons on Sundays. I learned to knit over a weekend in early January 2005, but still love to crochet. I was told that my favoring crochet may have something to do about my being impatient, and would explain why I LOVE my large needles that I picked up during my business trip in Denmark (12mm and 19mm). One of my favorite knit stitches is called the rose-hip stitch, a form of the garter stitch, and I discovered it in the perpetual calendar, "365 Stitches a Year" which is a FABULOUS book! I completed a number of knitted projects, including several Clapotis, baby sweaters, and helmetliners.
